German market growth

03/11/04 - In the first half of 2004 the German ceramic tile market showed growth for the first time since 1999, estimated by Hansa Group’s marketing director Carlo Cit as 4% net.

This increase largely benefited the German manufacturers, who reported an 8% increase in market share in terms of quantities, although this was offset by a parallel reduction in average revenues.

Italy and Spain are also profiting from the new economic situation: according to figures published by Assopiastrelle, sales of Italian tiles to the German market increased by 3.6% in value in the first half of 2004.
