Appel grows and expands its facilities
Following a strong performance in 2017, Appel has continued its growth in 2018 and is planning to build a new company headquarters with an office building and an additional industrial building for production and storage alongside the existing facility.
During the first few months of the year, Appel saw a surge in demand for Calibro-Planar systems for large sizes up to 1800x3600 mm. It also signed major supply agreements with Indian groups Simpolo, Simero, Simola, Ibis, Seron, Acecon and Accord, which have installed its calibre and flatness control technology on their new lines for large 1200x2400 mm sizes. In Mexico, the Porcelanite-Lamosa group has placed an order for the installation of the Appel Tile-Control system on its sorting lines.
Based on these orders, the Pavullo-based company has decided to expand its foreign sales organisation and the after-sales support service provided by highly-trained personnel. In the Indian and Southeast Asian markets, Appel has set up its own technical and commercial branches and built a spare parts warehouse in Morbi, Gujarat to guarantee a rapid response for local customers.
Appel has also made significant investments in R&D and innovation through Appel Tech, the division set up in 2014 to supply complete end-of-line solutions ranging from dimensional control to sorting and packaging lines. In 2017 and the first half of 2018, Appel Tech received a number of orders for sorting and packaging lines for the Italian and Iranian markets.
