A breath of optimism at Made expo 2009
The second MADE expo reported a 17.1% increase in attendance, a result that surpassed all expectations and brought a breath of optimism to the sector. The show was attended by a total of 200,126 visitors, including 19,202 foreign visitors (19.8% up on 2008) from 118 countries, consisting of companies from the world of building and finishings as well as designers and professionals. The 1,739 exhibitors accommodated in an area of more than 100,000 square metres displayed significant new products for the future of building and expressed their satisfaction with the results of the show.
Sustainability, energy saving and safety are a few of the issues that dominated the show, which hosted around a hundred meetings and conferences including the two Cityfutures days organised by MADE expo in conjunction with SitDa.
The show also featured some major cultural events, such as the installation Toy Building no. 1 devoted to futurism and held in Piazzetta Reale and the exhibition Instanthouse, which presented the work of students who took part in the competition to design temporary living spaces for Expo 2015.
