Çanakcilar Seramik makes new investments
Turkish sanitaryware manufacturer Çanakcilar Seramik (brand name Creavit) has strengthened its partnership with Sacmi by starting up a second Riedhammer tunnel kiln (the first dates from 1997) and, for the third time in three years, a new Gaiotto brand robotic glazing line. The aim of the investment is to strengthen the brand’s presence in the European and Middle Eastern markets.
The kiln (model TWS 96/300/75 – G, with DWS 12/300/75-W pre-dryer) has a production capacity of 2,800 pieces/day with a cycle time of 12 hours and a maximum temperature of 1190°C. It handles a product mix that includes both complex wall-hung and back-to-wall WCs and fine fire-clay washbasins with widths of up to 120 cm. The presence of the EMS 400 heat recovery system with combustion air pre-heating enables the kiln to achieve a specific heat consumption of 800 kCal per kg of fired product, while a water/flue gas heat exchanger produces overheated water for various factory applications.
The glazing system with GA 2000 robot is equally innovative, equipped with self-learning programming and integrated Mass Control system to optimise glaze delivery. Reliable, precise and efficient, it guarantees consistently high finished product quality together with reduced glaze wastage thanks to recovery with dry filtration. This allows for a greener and more ergonomic production cycle designed to improve operator working conditions and cut costs.
