CoppoTech, the hi-tech roof tile from IBL
IBL enjoyed a highly successful participation at the latest edition of Saie in Bologna. A member of the Dafin group and a leader in the clay roof tile and soft mud facing brick sector, IBL brought to the show all the technological experience it has gained in its 50 year history.
Visitors to Saie 2014 displayed a great deal of interest in CoppoTech, a roof element that combines the aesthetic qualities of a bent tile with the ease of installation of a plain tile. This is achieved thanks to a small side flange that engages easily with other elements. Another key aspect of these hi-tech tiles is their size. Requiring just 12 pieces to cover a square metre, they bring considerable savings in terms of speed of installation and the quantity of material needed to complete a roof covering.
Available in eight different colours, CoppoTech has obtained prestigious UNI EN 539-2 certification (method E), which declares the product's ability to withstand 150 freeze-thaw cycles. In particular, tests on IBL perform up to 300 freeze-thaw cycles without the plain tiles or bent tiles displaying either surface or structural damage. As a result, these products are at the forefront of the Italian market in terms of quality and are able to compete head-to-head with major European manufacturers, especially those operating in Northern and Eastern Europe countries where extremely strict building regulations are in force.
