Dorfner makes new investments
Dorfner, a German raw materials producer with operations based in Hirschau, is investing in new calcined kaolin technology and laying the foundations for future growth. The burgeoning demand for calcined kaolin for use in the ceramic, paper and plastics industries has prompted the company to upgrade its plant so as to offer a more rapid and efficient response to the needs of the market.
Following the 2007 and 2009 upgrades that have allowed the company to triple its production capacity, it is now making further investments in upgrading its first production plant, scheduled for the last quarter of 2012. In the first half of 2012, Dorfner also increased its storage capacity for Dorkamul® products so as to implement a just-in-time service, purchasing six new silos with a capacity of 140 m3 each. The silos were constructed in such a way as to protect the purity of the material, adopting a closed system to prevent any risk of contamination by impurities. Thanks to its modern R&D department, Dorfner is able to offer customised solutions for achieving high quality standards.
