Duravit China continues to invest in Sacmi automation
The number of LGVs supplied by Sacmi to the ultramodern Duravit factory in Chongqing reaches 13. A new robotised glazing cell has also been started up.
A global player in the high-quality designer sanitaryware sector, Duravit continues to invest in China with the aim of achieving total production process automation from handling through to glazing.
The two new Sacmi-Nuova Sima LGVs now in operation in the ultramodern factory in Chongqing join the 11 already supplied by Sacmi and used for all piece handling and storage operations and automated loading and unloading of the glazing cells. The two new vehicles are part of a broader production expansion programme that also includes installation of a new Sacmi robotised glazing cell.
Opened in 2017, the Chongqing plant remains one of the most important and innovative facilities in the country and indeed anywhere in the entire region. The sanitaryware production process is managed in accordance with an Industry 4.0 framework, including the smart management of production flows.
