Durst expands in Spain
Durst, the specialist in industrial inkjet applications, is expanding its presence in Spain. In addition to the LFP and textile segments, its Durst Iberica subsidiary, established in 2007, is now also taking over the sales, marketing and service structures for the ceramics market. The Ceramics Team, newly formed by Durst Iberica CEO Rafael Carbonell, has showcased its range of ceramic printers at the recent Cevisama 2012. Among the main exhibits are the Gamma 75 HD, the fastest single-pass printer for ceramic tiles, and the Pictocer HD flatbed printer, which has been specially designed for high firing temperatures and small series. Both systems can use ceramic inks containing inorganic nano pigments manufactured by different ink and glaze producers, including Torrecid, Ferro and Esmalglass-Itaca. Further ink manufacturers, such as Colorobbia and Smalticeram, are undergoing the two-stage certification process and they will be added to the list shortly following successful field tests.
Besides top quality and performance, Durst is focusing on optimal job processing at this year's trade fair. For example, the company is demonstrating Durst CopyRIP Industrial, a workflow software specially developed for ceramic design and printing processes.
