Durst Gamma XD 98 conquers the ceramic market
Gamma XD 98, the innovative 8-colour ceramic inkjet printer from Durst, is proving a big success. Just a few months after its official presentation at Tecnargilla 2014, it has already won over the international market with numerous installations in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Numerous Gamma XD systems have been installed, with a number of companies already ordering the second and in some cases the third printer in the series. Alberto Bassanello, Italian Sales Director, noted that the success in Italy "has currently been exceeded only by Brazil, where one of the top local manufacturers has already ordered 6 units". The company now hopes to repeat these results with the launch of the Gamma XD 148.
High image quality, full and uniform colours across the entire printing width and the total absence of banding are the characteristics that have sealed the success of this modular system, which has helped to set new standards in digital tile decoration.
The Gamma XD series features printheads equipped with the latest High Definition Printhead Technology with dual ink circulation and exclusive Adaptive Dot Placement technology, which guarantees an original resolution of between 300 and 1000 dpi, 4 greyscale levels and drop modulation of up to 90 pl.
Another feature that has proved highly popular is the integrated self-maintenance system, which reduces machine downtimes and allows for 24/7 production. The ink filtering process ensures outstanding reliability and reduces the maintenance frequency. When necessary, the new self-calibrating printheads can be replaced directly by the operator, thereby optimising production efficiency.
