Grespania chooses GEA technology from System
Franco Stefani, chairman of System Group, and D. Luis Hernández Sanchis, chairman of Grespania, recently signed an agreement for the supply of a new production plant based on GEA 2.0 pressing technology.
The plant will consist of a GEA 2.0 25000 press, a decoration line with a Creadigit system, a kiln, a cutting line, a handling and storage system, and a gluing and packaging system.
With this latest-generation technology, the Castellón-based tile producer will produce large-format panels in 1.2x3.6 metre and 1x3 metre sizes and thicknesses from 3 to 10 mm, as well as multi-format tiles in 60x60 cm, 80x80 cm, 100x100 cm, 120x120 cm and 120x240 cm sizes cut from fired and unfired panels. The plant will have an output of around 7,500 sq.m/day.
Already a customer of Fiorano-based company Laminam, Grespania has chosen to adopt a system that has the flexibility needed to switch without difficulty from one kind of product to another, as well as a high degree of energy efficiency and the ability to produce all sizes in demand in world markets interested in 100% Spanish-made ceramic tiles.
Production is due to begin in the spring of 2016.
