Gruppo B&T partners with Lasselsberger Group in the Czech Republic

The two new production lines supplied by Gruppo B&T have been successfully opened at the Lasselsberger Group plant in Borovany.

With factories in Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia and a portfolio of well-established brands such as RAKO, Cesarom, Zalakeramia and LB Ceramics, the Lasselsberger Group is one of the largest European ceramic producers and among the market leaders in Central and Eastern Europe. It recently started up two new lines at its factory in Borovany, Czech Republic for the production of tiles in sizes up to 120x240 cm and thicknesses from 8 mm to 20 mm.

The technology supplier for this project was Gruppo B&T, which designed and built the two lines to ensure maximum energy efficiency and lowest possible consumption, a result made possible by its extensive expertise in plant engineering and continuous investments in R&D.

For the two lines at the Borovany facility, Gruppo B&T supplied two 7-tier horizontal dryers and a Titanium® twin-channel kiln with a 2950 mm infeed width, integrated with advanced hot air recovery systems to maximise energy savings and minimise emissions. The innovative Titanium® firing technology ensures uniform temperatures across every point of the module, resulting in a fuel consumption reduction of over 30%.

The production efficiency of the plants was further improved with the installation of storage, loading and unloading stations to serve the kiln and dryers, as well as the supply of B&T-branded LGV automatic handling systems. The glazing line was built by Projecta, the group’s specialist in digital decoration technologies.

Finally, for product finishing, Lasselsberger opted for two incision, cutting and squaring lines manufactured by Ancora. Equipped with advanced tools, these lines ensure maximum production efficiency for both standard and 20 mm thicknesses.
