I Saloni 2008 reports record figures


According to estimates released by the show's press office, I Saloni 2008 (Milan Furniture Show) was attended by 348,000 visitors, including 210,000 from abroad, 29% more than at the last event.
The main countries of origin were Spain, Russia, France, Germany and Southeast Asian countries. There was a strong increase in attendance by visitors from South America, reflecting the region's increasingly open market.

The 2,450 exhibitor companies, hosted in a net space of 230,000 square metres, showcased the trends of the house of the future with particular attention to eco-sustainability and the use of environmentally friendly materials and solutions.

The Via Tortona area which hosted the FuoriSalone events was packed with visitors and featured a wide range of innovative design proposals, especially by young international designers.
