Italian ceramic machinery conquers India

Italian companies will be out in force at the trade fair Indian Ceramics, due to be held from 19 to 21 March in the exhibition centre in Ahmedabad, an important city in the Gujarat region.


A total of 30 Italian ceramic machinery manufacturers will be taking part with stands while others will be visiting the show to meet their Indian customers.

The Italian delegation will be assisted by the Italian ceramic machinery manufacturers' association Acimac, which will be organising a representation stand to support the participating companies and to provide Indian customers with information on Italian technologies.

The participating Italian companies are: Apple, Air Power Group, Assoprint SRS, Bedeschi, Bernini Impianti, Bongioanni Macchine, Colorobbia, Tecnoferrari Group, Icra, Inkside, IPA, LB Officine Meccaniche, Lamberti, Luna Abrasivi, Manfredini & Schianchi, Mectiles Italia, Officine Smac, Poligraph, Sacmi, Setec Group, Simertec, Siti B&T Group, Smaticeram, Smaltochimica, Soltek, Stylgraph, System, TCK, Tecnofiliere, Tecnografica, Tecnopress, Tecnosint and Vetriceramici.

India - and the Gujarat region in particular - is one of the largest markets for ceramic technologies.

In 2011, India produced 617 million sq.m of ceramic tiles, 12.2% up on the previous year, making it the world's third largest producer country after China and Brazil.

Also in 2011, the value of exports of Italian ceramic machinery to Eastern Asia, where India is the biggest market, totalled 215.2 million euro, 48.4% up on the previous year.
