Lakos takes over from Zeidler at Norddeutsche Steingut

Alexander Lakos has been appointed to the German company’s executive board. He takes over from Stefan Zeidler, who will be retiring on 31 March.

A change has been announced in the top management of Norddeutsche Steingut, the Bremen-based ceramic company in which Steuler-Fliesen holds a majority stake.

Stefan Zeidler, due to retire on 31 March after 17 years on the executive board, will hand over the baton to Alexander Lakos, who was appointed to the board on 1 February. Head of Corporate Development at the Steuler Tile Group for the past year, Lakos will lead Norddeutsche Steingut together with Rüdiger Grau. After studying business administration with a focus on finance and control, Lakos has held various positions at Procter & Gamble, Grohe and other chemical and food companies during his career.

On announcing the appointment, the Norddeutsche Steingut supervisory board thanked Zeidler for the valuable contribution he has made to the company over the years. Amongst other things, he was instrumental in setting up the sales organisation at NordCeram (entirely owned by the group) and driving the development of the standard to high-quality premium porcelain ranges. He was also one of the architects of Deutsche Fliese AG (a 50%-owned subsidiary of Norddeutsche Steingut) and most recently was active in the restructuring of the domestic specialist retail sales department at the Steuler Tile Group in Germany.
