Manfredini & Schianchi secures major supply contract in Mexico
Santa Julia, a major Mexican ceramic group located in the city of Puebla, has commissioned Manfredini & Schianchi to supply a Dry-Tech dry preparation line as part of the plan to refurbish its raw materials preparation plant. The supplied plant replaces the previous one equipped with vertical track and roller mill and gooseneck granulator technology, now considered obsolete in the ceramic industry. Primary grinding is performed with a P.I.G.-HD mill, which as early as the pre-milling stage is capable of achieving 60% fine material ready for the granulation/batching stage. The heart of the plant is the new Molomax 6-500 pendular mill, which can achieve an output of 35 ton/h at 150 mesh (power used 450 kW). The Forgia MS/38/F granulator (the world's most widely used granulation technology in the dry pressed ceramic sector) together with the rotating screens installed at the press infeed will allow Santa Julia to produce large large-format single fired floor tiles with high productivity and with first choice percentages greater than 95%. The technology will also allow for a 35% saving on the costs of raw materials processing compared to the previously used technology.
