Marazzi Group sells Hatria
Marazzi Group sold its subsidiary Hatria to the U.S. private equity firm Cobe Capital. The sanitaryware production of Hatria, company based in Sant'Atto (Teramo, Italy) has faced a long series of difficulties and ceased production last July.
The company closed in 2012 with a 20.3 million euro profit and 3.4 million euro loss.
Thomas Kermongant, head of activities in Southern Europe and the U.K. for the private equity firm, managed the operation and is now Hatria president. The new property intends to commence production imminently.
CoBe Capital is a private equity firm specialised in managing a diversified portfolio of companies. The selling of Hatria by Marazzi Group, controlled by the American giant Mohawk Industries, fits into an industrial development plan focused on the core business of ceramic tiles, which will receive significant investments that are already in progress, with plans to double the production capacity of the plant in Fiorano Modenese.
