Saie 2003, the quality building industry exhibition
Saie's most important characteristics include a capacity for renovation and opportunities for thought-provoking debate. The event has become an essential tool for professionals who want to make an impact in the increasingly specialised and competitive international building world.
With 1,850 exhibitors including 450 foreign companies (24.32%) from 29 different countries and 165,000 visitors (last year's figures), Saie is one of the most important international events in the building world.
The breakdown of visitors by profession is 40% building contractors, 38% professionals and 19% trade visitors. The wide range of product offerings - 11 large sectors with more than 400 product categories - will be showcased in 18 halls and 6 external areas, making up an exhibition space of 210,000 square metres.

Highly specialised conferences, seminars, workshops and focus meetings will be held during the five days of the show with a programme of more than 50 events.
Core Exhibit 2003 - A new Core Exhibit series is beginning on the subject of Living the future: innovation, technology, architecture.
As elsewhere, there is an urgent need in the building sector to keep abreast of changes introduced by technological innovation. The 2003 initiative will consist of an international conference (Friday 17 October) and a book.
Technological Focus - The Technological Focus 2003 will look at the theme of information technology for managing the building process, with particular emphasis on aspects of building process optimisation and the construction stage.
The initiative will consist of a conference (Saturday 18 October) organised in cooperation with AICE (Italian economic engineering association); an exhibition entitled "Information technology for building" held in the Service Centre; and a useful product directory.
Design Profession - The series of Seminars devoted to the issues of greatest interest for the design world will be extended with four new themes explored through itinerant events and a series of conferences at Saie.
Another event of a cultural nature will be a Conference at Climatec (organised by Aicarr) entitled "Hotel systems: thematic, economic and management evaluations" (to be held on 16 October). It will explore the themes of air conditioning, safety, auxiliary systems, supervision, control and management, and acoustic problems.
