SaieDue on the starting blocks

06/03/07 SaieDue Living, the international exhibition of architecture, interior finishings, renovation and building technologies, will be held for the last time in the Bologna exhibition centre from 13 to 17 March.

The 26th edition of the major trade show, which will move to Milan next year and take the name Made Expo, will as usual have a packed programme of exhibitions, ancillary events and new products on display.

Saidue 2007 will be held in an exhibition space of 155,000 square metres and aims to surpass the already excellent results achieved last year: 1,410 exhibitors and more than 132,788 visitors, including 10,627 from abroad. The event’s key strength lies in its ability to showcase the residential building project in its entirety, from the perspective of both technology/planning and aesthetics/decoration.

The in-focus section contains a short description of the theme shows at SaieDue 2007.

The theme showsSaieDue 2007 is once again divided into eight different theme sections to optimise the display of offerings of doors, windows and door/window frames, stairs, floor coverings, automated systems, paint, renovation technologies, technologies for ecological building and accessories for safety and security.

- Sates (biennial exhibition of technologies and systems for the building shell) offers visitors the world’s most comprehensive overview of technologies relating to the use of aluminium for the production of door and window frames and in general all aspects of the external shell of a building.

- Sates Alluminio Legno (first edition of the aluminium/wood door and window frame exhibition) is an important new addition to SaieDue. Its purpose is to explore in depth all issues relating to aluminium/wood door and window frames, a production segment that is rapidly gaining market share (12.1% of all metal door and window frames in 2005 compared to 5.2% in 1999).

- Naturpolis (exhibition of ecological and ecologically improving products for building): the only Italian exhibition of sustainable architecture, for the last ten editions it has been promoting the culture of living in harmony with oneself and with the environment.

- Floor Expo (flooring exhibition): combines innovation and tradition in the most comprehensive showcase of floor coverings for public and private building.

- Securbuilding (exhibition of security and safety, domotics and intelligent systems for the home and buildings): provides a comprehensive overview of physical and perimeter protection systems.

- Sunweek (renewable energy exhibition): energy saving and resource optimisation. Photovoltaic, solar, thermal, wind, biomass… alternative and feasible energy sources for better living.

- Living Stones (exhibition of marble and natural stone): stone materials reinterpreted in a modern light in public and private building.

- The eighth exhibition is the SaieDue Carpentry show (exhibition of machinery for door and window frame production): innovations, technologies and new frontiers in door and window frame production machinery, with special emphasis on worker safety.

- The biennial Decor&Color Show devoted to paints, coverings, products and machinery for interior decoration and building renovation has been adjourned to 2008.
