The Saloni: the events in the city

A packed programme of events will be held in the city of Milan during the Saloni 2012. Running from 17 to 22 April, this year the Saloni will be devoted to quality products and living culture.
The Teatro dell’Arte in the Triennale in Milan will be staging “Design Dance”, a project by Michela Marelli and Francesca Molteni in which 456 design objects are made to speak, act and even dance.
During the six days of the event, the Biblioteca Pinacoteca Accademia Ambrosiana will be hosting the installation “librocielo. Voci e luci sull’abitare dov’era il cuore romano” created by Attilio Stocchi, a multimedia tribute to the Roman heart of the city and a reflection on lifestyles through the words in ancient books.
The most exclusive international shopping street, Via Monte Napoleone, will host the exhibition “MonteNapoleone Design Experience by Citroën. AUTO-MOBILI”, created by architect Piero Russi. The event explores 50 years of history through a display of pioneering Citroën cars and a number of items of furniture presented during the 50 editions of the Salone del Mobile.
Last but not least, from 17 to 24 April the Piccolo Teatro Studio Expo will be staging the show “Mani grandi, senza fine. Nascita e ascesa del design a Milano. I Castiglioni, Magistretti, Menghi, Sottsass, Viganò, Zanuso”, by and with Laura Curino and produced by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano.
The Milan showrooms of 80 exhibiting companies will also be staging their own events.
