SITI - B&T Group is formed

02/04/07 - SITI-B&T Group is the new name of the world’s second-largest group in the ceramic plant and machinery sector.
The new industrial group was created through the merger by incorporation of SITI of Marano Ticino (Novara) into Barbieri&Tarozzi of Formigine (Modena).
The agreement was signed last August but becomes fully operative as of April 2007.

The group has more than eight hundred employees working at the sixteen sites located worldwide (three production units in Italy at Formigine, Milan and Marano Ticino; three production units abroad, in Spain, China and Brazil; and ten service points) and a 2006 turnover of 170 million euro.

The group will be led by chairman Fausto Tarozzi, founder and former chairman of Barbieri&Tarozzi, who believes that “the road to competitiveness must pass through integration, abandoning the individualism of the past”.
This business decision is based on attention to an increasingly globalised market.
Fabio Tarozzi, former director of the B&T group, will be the new operating vice chairman and general manager, while Mario Speranza, former managing director of SITI, maintains the same position within the new group.

The aims of the merger are to create winning synergies between two historic companies and to establish an extensive presence in international markets by offering innovative technology backed by renowned Italian quality.
The group will benefit from B&T's consolidated presence in Europe, the Middle and Far East and Latin America and SITI’s strong position in Eastern Europe, Russia and the former Soviet republics, Brazil and North Africa, markets where the two companies enjoy a leadership position in their respective product segments.
