Tecnargilla presents Ceramilights
Light will be the common theme of the ancillary initiatives organised as part of the Ceramic Workshop at Tecnargilla (30 September to 4 October 2008), the leading international exhibition of technologies for the ceramic and brick industries. Created in 2002 to explore the new horizons of decoration and ceramic application in homes and cities of the future, this year the Ceramic Workshop will take the name of Ceramilights and will be set up in a 1,000 square metre space at the entrance to Rimini Fiera.
Ceramic Workshop will explore the links between ceramic and light, a relationship that epitomises the current trends in the world of ceramic materials.
The exhibit comprises a kind of luminous, lightweight tunnel with graphic design and colours that explore the theme of light and its effects on images and materials.
The exhibition includes the now customary and very popular Tecnargilla trends area called "Color Trends", likewise devoted to the metaphor of light. This area will explore fashion colours (hyper-light, hyper-dark, hyper-saturated), finishes (luminous, opalescent, metallic, hyper-glossy), textures (side-lit laser-treated surfaces, micro and macro textures) and decorations (with the presentation of work by various screen printing laboratories). There will also be an emotional, hyper-luminous exhibit featuring ceramic materials enhanced with photoluminescent pigments.
Once again the Ceramic Workshop has involved the participation of students at the IED (European Design Institute) in Milan and at the ISIA in Faenza. The "Lab" area will present students' work exploring the use and aesthetics of ceramic in the kitchen and in urban design. The goal is to establish synergies with companies capable of offering students training and career opportunities while at the same time investing in research and professionalism.
