Torrecid wins Tecnargilla Design Award
Torrecid has won the first edition of the Tecnargilla Design Award, the competition launched at Tecnargilla 2010 to celebrate the latest technological innovations in the ceramic industry, focusing on the theme of digital decoration. The winner was chosen by a qualified jury of experts and professionals consisting of creative and technical directors of ceramic companies and tile retailers, who on Monday 27 September judged the projects displayed in the exhibition set up in Ceramic Workshop, the area devoted to exhibitions of ceramic creativity.
In the words of the jury, Torrecid “was most successful in exploring the new frontiers of digital technology, making the ceramic substrate unrecognisable and achieving a highly creative product with strong colour rendering and good commercial potential. The high definition is very close to that of printing on paper.”
Fourteen companies took part in the initiative: Colorobbia Italia, Esmalglass-Itaca, Euromeccanica, Poligraph, Sertam, Projecta Engineering, Siti B&T Group, System Group, Vidres, Tecnoferrari, Torrecid, TSC, Kerajet and LB Officine Meccaniche, all of which operate in the field of creativity, digital decoration and printing and displayed many examples of the outstanding aesthetic potential offered by digital technology.
The jury was composed of Silvia Stanzani – art director brand Xtra Fiandre, Silvia Giacobazzi – designer for Mutina group, Davide Carra – technical director for Atlas Concorde, Elisabetta Bandini – Product Manager Cooperativa Ceramica Imola, Alessandro Mattalia – owner of Berardo Ceramiche (CN) and Enzo Giacani – owner of Vibroedil (AN).
