Vesco resumes shipping to Spain, Italy and Turkey

The first shipment of 17,000 tonnes of Ukrainian clay arrived at the port of Castellón on 15 August.

Vesco, Ukraine’s largest clay producer and exporter, is back in operation after suspending operations for several months due to the outbreak of the war and the subsequent evacuation of personnel and equipment.

As sales director Dmitrii Kostornichenko explains, “The shock caused by the first few weeks of the war was quickly replaced by an understanding of the need to find and build new logistics channels as an alternative to the blockaded Ukrainian ports. The aim was to rapidly resume shipping of the stocks of material already available prior to temporary suspension of the company’s operations. We have succeeded, and shipping to major foreign markets has resumed.

The first shipment of 17,000 tonnes of Ukrainian clay arrived at the port of Castellón, Spain on 15 August.

We have now reached a shipping volume of 100,000 tonnes per month and are planning to expand the channels that we have managed to build,” confirms Kostornichenko. The company has also resumed production activities, with sufficient volumes for the current shipping capacity.

Vesco is a strongly export-oriented company which sells more than 80% of its clay production in major ceramic districts globally. It is owned by UMG Investments, which in turn is part of SCM, the largest investment group in Ukraine.
