Vidres launches Glimker Nácar
Glimker Nácar is the name of the new semi-gloss finish from the Glimker range for porcelain tile production unveiled at Cevisama 2015 by the Spanish glaze and colour producer Vidres.
It consists of the application of very small granules that give the tile surface a granular texture that is pleasant to the touch and a semi-gloss appearance reminiscent of mother-of-pearl or nacre (hence the Spanish word "nácar"). The product's success prompted Vidres to develop a formulation for monoporosa production.
At this year's Cersaie, Vidres will be presenting the new collections produced using Glimker Nácar and displaying a range of decorative effects from modern geometric reliefs to the more classic limestone effect, all of which share a strongly natural appearance.
This new material is the result of constant research and aims to meet the need for added value in the monoporosa segment, giving ceramic tiles new textures with iridescent shades, finishes that can be achieved by combining the new pearly shade with special matt or gloss digital inks.
