Vista Alegre makes investment for IKEA
The well-known stoneware and porcelain tableware manufacturer Vista Alegre Group (Aveiro, Portugal) is investing around 20 million euro in a new state-of-the-art tableware factory which will produce stoneware articles for its client IKEA. Production will begin in 2014 with an annual capacity of 30 million items with different shapes, sizes and colours.
The German company Lippert has been assigned responsibility for complete handling and all glazing plants. The scope of equipment delivered by Lippert starts directly after the isostatic pressing of tableware and continues through to automatic kiln loading and unloading. The entire material flow takes place automatically. In this process, non-circular items as well as special goods are automatically placed on the firing bats in a space-saving arrangement using cameras and robots and unloaded afterwards. A supervisory data recording system coordinates and controls the production process.
