Xaar appoints new director of sales for North and Latin American countries
In a significant strengthening of its presence in the North American and Latin American markets, the inkjet technology specialist Xaar has appointed Don Whaley as Director of Sales, Xaar Americas.
Don Whaley joins Xaar from Piksel Inc, where he was Vice President, Global Channels. The appointment coincides with the opening of a new Sales and Customer support office in Grand Prairie, Texas, close to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The facility provides training and demonstration suites and engineering support for Xaar customers in the USA, Canada and Latin America.
"This is a great time to join Xaar," says Don Whaley. "There are big opportunities to extend the penetration of the company's inkjet technologies in the graphics, packaging and industrial imaging markets throughout the region." Richard Barham, Xaar's Chief Customer Officer, is also delighted with the appointment, hailing it as a major step forward in the group's growth.
This year Xaar is celebrating its 25th anniversary, after beginning life in 1990 as four people in a small office on Cambridge Science Park. Their goal was to develop and commercialise digital inkjet print technology arising out of work done by Cambridge Consultants. Today the company employs over 600 people worldwide, based at three buildings in Cambridge, at state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Huntingdon and Järfälla, Sweden, and in offices in Hong Kong, India and the USA.
