Younexa starts up new plant in La Vall D’Alba

Younexa has started up a new automated compounding plant and launched innovative, high-quality and environmentally friendly solutions onto the market.

Younexa, a ceramic glaze and colour producer belonging to the Altadia Group, is constantly evolving and experimenting as part of its efforts to create cutting-edge, sustainable and excellent quality products. With the latest innovations it has brought to market, Younexa reaffirms its commitment to creativity, innovation and the use of more environmentally friendly technologies.

These new product lines stand out for their technical quality and high added value and include:

  • KRYSTAL, a grit designed to create glossy, transparent and scratch-resistant finishes with mirror-effect surfaces;
  • KORIUM, an application for matt finishes capable of creating a variety of hardness levels on different ceramic surfaces;
  • NEXAINKS and NEXAEFFECTS, which represent the state of the art in the field of digital inks and effects;
  • DIMENSION, which can be used to create volumes and textures with NexaEffects digital effects and grits.

All of these new products reflect the values and principles of a company with more than a hundred years of experience that is committed to supplying high quality products and services to today’s more environmentally conscious customers. In keeping with this mission and with the aim of serving more demanding markets while seeking a balance between excellence, durability and sustainability, Younexa has carried out a major upgrade in terms of production processes and resource management at its La Vall D’Alba plant. The resultant fully automated compounding plant is a first for the Altadia Group and is part of an Industry 4.0 policy aimed at improving productivity and competitiveness in international markets.

Interventions aimed at minimising the environmental impact of the production process include constructing new kilns and improving the energy efficiency of existing ones by installing oxy-combustion processes (in which air is replaced with pure oxygen) to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, dryers equipped with heat recovery systems have been installed and the glaze mills have been soundproofed.

Younexa is part of the Altadia Group, a world leader in the field of inks and glazes for the ceramic industry with 32 production facilities and more than 3,600 employees in 19 countries worldwide.
