ElleK: colour preparation systems to be used in "Mobile Mixture" slip colouring

Building on experience acquired by its technicians in the ceramic raw materials preparation segment, Elle K Automazioni has developed various colour preparation systems to be used in “Mobile Mixture” slip colouring or in the high pressure vein colouring system directly in the spray dryer chamber.
The colouring pigments can be dry or wet batched.

- Dry batching. The new feature of the system is the use of modular batching stations that empty big-bags and a blunger specially designed to achieve the maximum dispersion of colouring oxides. The system is easy to use and is designed according to the specific characteristics of the target plants (directly at the spray-dryer or at the syrup storage tanks), and can be used on any type of plant without limits of capacity.
The use of big-bags not only brings economic benefits but also allows for improved logistic management of the colour preparation department and less use of labour.
The use of software specially designed by Elle K, together with the precision of Stad batching systems, allows for long-term repeatability and consistency of products, making it possible to programme even very small production batches.
The Elle K blungers are designed for rapid preparation of the pigments to be used for colouring the slips and achieve a considerable reduction in dissolving time compared to conventional systems with discontinuous mills, as well as considerable energy and water savings. Using a special rotor located on the bottom of the tank, the blungers disperse the raw materials in water and if necessary grind them. All parts involved in the dissolving process (rotor, shafts) are made of special high wear-resistance steel and are easy to replace. Maintenance is extremely simple and reduced to a minimum.

- Wet batching. Wet batching is performed in two different ways, with vein or tank colouring. As for vein colouring, Elle K Automazioni has developed a new computerised high-pressure vein colouring system directly in the spray dryer chamber, the new feature of which is the use of high-pressure diaphragm metering pumps. The system is easy to use and can be applied to any spray dryer without limits of capacity. As for tank colouring, the experience gained by the company’s technicians in the construction of dozens of slip colouring plants enables Elle K Automazioni to supply a new computerised compact slip colouring system called “Mobile Mixture”. The simple and compact construction of the system on a mechanical supporting framework allows for ease of handling by means of pallet trucks or other lifting equipment. Furthermore the plant is supplied with hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems completely assembled.
All the user has to do is connect up the plant in the factory using connectors, thereby saving time and space.
The plant is designed according to the characteristics of the spray dryers it is to serve and is easily transportable by means of containers.
