Focus on Forming - Sacmi: new Imola series range of hydraulic presses

As part of its ongoing product improvement policy, Sacmi recently launched its new Imola series range of hydraulic presses.

This technically advanced range with renewed design is headed by the model PH7500. Styled in cooperation with renowned industrial designer Isao Hosoe, it has new aesthetic and technical features. Assembled using the tried and tested preloaded wire technique, the press frame now incorporates the main cylinder in which the pressing piston slides. In this configuration optimised rigidity of the various structural parts ensures uniform distribution of the pressing load under all working conditions, even on the PH7500, the largest model. The hydraulic control unit is connected directly to the cylinder to ensure maximum speed and precision of all pressing parameters. Equipped with the latest generation of control software, the new range also features automatic self-tuning. This ensures maximum productivity without in any way affecting finished product quality.

The key strengths of this generation of machines are:

  • The accumulators, which provide the necessary acceleration to guarantee maximum productivity in all operating conditions;
  • The status indicator, which indicates clearly the machine operation status;
  • The fast and precise SPE ejector which allows large formats to be loaded with the same quality and repeatability as the small sizes;
  • The variable capacity pump power unit, which provides the propulsion required to achieve high levels of productivity without wasting energy due to optimisation of the hydraulic circuit;
  • The multiplier, which doubles the pump capacity and thereby increases cycle speed, even for large formats, and doubles the pump pressure, thus increasing the power of the press in order to produce larger sizes;
  • Proportional hydraulic system, which allows for totally automatic press management and guarantees the highest precision and repeatability, even at high levels of productivity;
  • The profibus which guarantees extremely high control system processing speeds and allows for outstanding precision and repeatability, even at high levels of productivity.
