Garoll presents new casting unit

Garoll presents new casting unit28/04/2003 - Garoll, a company based in Travagliato (province of Brescia, Italy), recently introduced its new CELL-201/T-L, an innovative pressure casting system capable of casting 2,300 cisterns a day with the obliged thickness process, equivalent to a total of 530,000 saleable pieces a year (based on 250 working days a year). The unit is already on the market and consists of 2 presses equipped with mould holders (useful area 1800x1570 mm) capable of holding 2 resin moulds with 4 cavities each with the possibility of casting different models simultaneously.
In order to fully automate the production process, the two presses are served by a robot which performs the following:

  • simultaneous demoulding of 4 pieces by means of 4-cavity tools of suitable dimensions for the type of models installed;
  • lateral hole punching of the cisterns using a tool equipped with pneumatic devices;
  • punching of the holes located on the bottom of the cisterns using double-diameter tools.
The demoulding robot deposits the pieces on a plate conveyor which transports them to the robotised finishing station.
The conveyor belt is sufficiently long to allow the pieces to reach an initial degree of drying necessary for the finishing operations. At the end of the plate conveyor, a second robot performs the following operations: upper seam fettling; sponging of the holes; automatic piece loading on boxes (or on cars or directly on a continuous dryer) for transport to the dryer.
