Hob Certec’s most technical rollers
Selecting the right roller for each product is crucial. Here are Hob Certec’s flagship models: The extreme Hyperroll XT and the “intelligent” Hyperroll IQ.
Hob Certec offers a comprehensive range of refractory rollers suitable for firing all types of tiles, from small sizes to large slabs in thicknesses ranging from 3 to 30 mm. Today the two flagship models are Hyperroll XT and Hyperroll IQ.
Selecting the right roller for each product is crucial. For large slabs of varying thicknesses (3 to 30 mm), the USP roller from the Hyperroll XT (Extreme) range is an excellent option as a unique, highly technical roller.
Hyperroll XT is suitable for all kiln types, particularly those with larger cross-sections, and is the most advanced roller available in the ceramic industry. With an MOE of 200 GPa, it is designed to withstand heavy mechanical loads and maximise kiln capacity by allowing tiles and slabs to be loaded to the full width of the kiln channels. Depending on channel width and roller size, one or more tiles can be added per row, thereby increasing kiln productivity by up to 33%. However, to achieve this, the entire kiln must be equipped with Hyperroll XT, as rollers with lower flexural strength would not be able to support the additional tile load.
Thanks to its low porosity, Hyperroll XT offers excellent resistance to aggressive chemical attacks.
Hyperroll IQ is a valid alternative to Hyperroll XT for tile thicknesses up to 20 mm, regardless of their format. Available in a wide range of diameters, it is an intelligent, versatile roller with an MOE of 120 GPa.
Like Hyperroll XT, Hyperroll IQ ensures high product quality by improving flatness, minimising defects and deformations and facilitating smooth, stable transport of tiles through the kiln, particularly in the main firing zone.
Both Hyperroll IQ and Hyperroll XT are particularly suited to kilns with a wide cross-section, typically equipped with rollers exceeding 52 mm in diameter and 4000 mm in length, although the range also includes smaller sizes.
Both models are ideal for kilns used in slab production with mouldless continuous presses, which provide high flexibility in terms of thickness.
