The result of over a year's experimentation and protected by international patents, Monolithos 3D technology is an innovative way of producing through-bodied porcelain tiles decorated directly at the press.
The innovation consists of being able to produce highly realistic simulations of the patterns of natural stone (travertine, marble, granite) simply by applying just one filling unit to the press.
This is a sophisticated filling system which uses a series of electronically-controlled actuators governed by a PC with a highly versatile interface to allow powders to be deposited in the filler box with precision and then transferred without altering the decorative pattern inside the die cavity.
The system also includes a device that enhances the decorative pattern directly in the press cavity by eliminating the negative effects of skimming. Excellent results are also achieved with products that do not require polishing or those with textured surfaces. The system is highly versatile and with a few changes allows manufacturers to produce tiles with geometric effects (again, through-bodied).
These are particularly suitable for coordinated installation on large surfaces. Monolithos 3D can easily be installed on all lines with presses that have an inter-column clearance of 1750 mm.
This project further emphasises Sacmi's commitment to innovative, technologically advanced solutions.
