Antica Ceramica di Rubiera chooses EkoSort from Nuova Fima
The new EkoSort carousel sorting line was one of the machines that aroused greatest interest at the last edition of Tecnargilla. This latest product from NuovaFima, the Sacmi Group brand specialising in end-of-line solutions, features a number of outstanding characteristics including functional simplicity, rugged construction, accessibility, quiet operation and very short size changeover times.
Impressed by these characteristics, the management of Antica Ceramica di Rubiera ordered the machine, which was assembled, started up and tested in the space of just a few days.
The company's Rubiera plant is undoubtedly one of the most efficient Italian ceramic facilities. It features high tonnage presses with rapid mould changeover systems and a latest-generation kiln with a 2950 mm width entrance delivering virtually unrivalled efficiency, productivity and usage coefficients.
The new EkoSort machine integrates perfectly with this installation and together with the existing EkoRoll cardboard packaging unit forms one of the most advanced, flexible lines ever installed by the Sacmi Group.
The Frascari family, the owners of Antica Ceramica di Rubiera, also chose Ekosort for the forthcoming expansion of its facilities in Poland (Ceramika Konskie). Featuring a wide-clearance press and a new EKO kiln, this latest line will allow for direct production of high-thickness, textured porcelain tiles.
For the Konskie Group (Stargres, Stardust, Ceramika Konskie and Ceramika Color brands) this new investment marks a further step towards higher levels of efficiency and automation, bringing benefits in terms of lower production costs and higher quality.
