Breton acquires majority stake in Tecnema Technology
Breton (Castello di Godego, Treviso), a world-leading manufacturer of natural and engineered stone processing machines and finishing lines for the ceramic tile industry, has strengthened its presence in the ceramic tile finishing sector by acquiring a majority shareholding in the company Tecnema Technology based in Maranello (Modena).
Carried out in cooperation with Tecnema’s founding partner Umberto Fava, the acquisition lays the foundations for close collaboration between the two companies with the aim of establishing a leadership position in all mechanical finishing stages for ceramic tiles and slabs. In this sector, Breton now combines its honing and wet cutting lines for large ceramic slabs with the innovative and high-performance automatic orthogonal dry cutting and grinding lines produced by Tecnema, which can be integrated into Breton’s IT system in accordance with an Industry 4.0 philosophy.
Umberto Fava and his son Alessandro will continue to play a driving role within the management of Tecnema. Tecnema’s well-established position in the heart of the Italian ceramic tile cluster will enable Breton to strengthen its customer service structure in the Sassuolo district along with its subsidiaries in the USA, India, Australia, China, the UK and Brazil.
