Cersaie 2008 reports fall in attendance

While confirming its status as the world’s largest exhibition of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings with a total exhibition space of 176,000 square metres, Cersaie closed its 26th edition with an 8% fall in total attendance over the five days of the show to 84,537.
Compared to the record 2007 edition which drew more than 90,000 visitors, the categories that saw the most substantial falls were “paying Italian visitors” and “Italian professionals”, further evidencing the difficult situation in the domestic market.
In spite of a few percentage point fall, international attendance was particularly strong, exceeding 30% for the first time. Foreign visitors totalled 25,675, accounting for 32.3% of total professional attendance at the show.

The next Cersaie will be held in Bologna from 29 September to 3 October 2009.
