CE.SI. continues to grow with Sacmi
A third kiln and highly automated storage lines have been successfully started up in the midst of the Covid emergency
CE.SI., Ceramica di Sirone, a Lecco, Italy-based company with a history of high-quality ceramic tile production dating back more than 60 years, now has three Sacmi kilns in operation. The latest, a high-performance energy-saving FMS kiln, is used for the production of CE.SI.’s trademark small to medium-size plain coloured glazed tiles, a product that continues to enjoy enormous popularity amongst architects and designers the world over.
The kiln has been installed in a new building together with an adjoining laboratory and a complete state-of-the-art storage system based on Sacmi-Nuova Sima LGV laser-guided vehicles, a solution that effectively doubles the automated system installed by Sacmi at the end of 2017.
The entire project was successfully completed in the midst of the Covid emergency thanks to effective teamwork between the two companies’ technical staff, engineers and management.
“Even during these difficult times, we have chosen to look to the future with determination and invest in the quality of our products and the best technology for producing them,” commented Mario Fumagalli from CE.SI. (pictured with Giuseppe Miselli from Sacmi). “This project further strengthens our idea of Factory 4.0 and will enable us to provide an even more effective response to the needs of our customers and the market.”
