Cevisama approaches amidst uncertainty and determination
Cevisama 2009 will bear a heavy burden of responsibility. To be held from 10 to 13 February in Valencia, the show will highlight the way in which the international crisis is impacting the ceramic tile and bathroom equipment markets.
As early as November 2008 the figures published by the exhibition management organisation confirmed a 12% fall in sales of exhibition space, although the number of exhibitors remained unchanged.
A sense of moderate optimism is discernible amongst the entrepreneurs and in spite of the difficult economic situation they appear determined to overcome the challenge of the future. But how do they intend to do this? First and foremost by continuing along the road of innovation and further intensifying their efforts in terms of aesthetics. And the fact that new collections with carefully planned designs, sizes and finishes will be unveiled at the show demonstrates how essential renewal is at times of falling demand.
The biennial machinery manufacturers section will not be held this year. The show’s calendar includes competitions and events aiming to stimulate new ideas and proposals in the world of design which will open up new avenues of development for technologies and applications of ceramic tiles and bathroom equipment.
Cevisama reported a 4.8% increase in the number of visitors at the 2008 show, 102,000 against the 97,000 of 2007.
