Claudio Casolari re-elected chairman of Ceramicolor
Federchimica Ceramicolor, the Italian association of ceramic glaze, colour and metal oxide producers with 15 member companies generating a total annual turnover of more than 500 million euros, has reappointed Claudio Casolari (Metco) as its chairman for the three-year period 2018-2021.
The Annual General Meeting held on 21 May also elected the two vice chairmen Angelo Lami (Inco Industria Colori) and Daniele Bandiera (Vetriceramici-Ferro), who will make up the association’s steering committee along with the other officers: Marco Bitossi (Colorobbia Italia), Riccardo Doni (Def di R. Doni), Giuliano Ferrari (Sicer), Pierluigi Ghirelli (Zschimmer&Schwarz Ceramco), Andrea Giambi (Torrecid), Carlo Alberto Ovi (Smalticeram Unicer) and Massimo Prodi (Esmalglass).
Casolari, who has been serving as chairman since 2014, recalled how Ceramicolor has grown over the last three years and has successfully tackled a range of issues thanks to the expertise of all its member companies. “Our sector has experienced a long and severe crisis,” he said. “However we have already largely overcome the challenge of reinventing ourselves in terms of both our products and our processes. Ceramicolor’s members include the leading companies in the sector, which in close collaboration with their customers have played a vital role in reaffirming the aesthetic qualities of Italian ceramic products.”
Casolari believes that the other major challenge for the future will be the relationship between the worlds of education and business and the ability to train skilled engineers and managers. “In the face of fierce international competition, progress must begin with the technical culture that has always defined us and made us unique.”
