Countdown to Mosbuild 2019
Form April 2 to 5, the Crocus Expo exhibition complex in Moscow will host Mosbuild 2019, the largest Russian building and interior exhibition, where also the Italian machinery manufacturers will be present.
Held for the first time in the modern Crocus Expo exhibition complex in Moscow, Mosbuild 2019, the largest building and interior exhibition for the Russian and Eastern European markets, will open its doors on April 2nd, welcoming about 1,200 exhibitors and expecting 65,000 visitors.
As well as the traditional exhibiting sectors (bathroom furniture, soft furnishings, roofs and external facades, paint and wallpaper, doors, windows and building materials), this year the ceramic tile sector will also be well represented at the show: Not only thanks to the presence of major Russian producers (among which Estima, Cersanit, Unitile, Nefrit, and the local companies of Italian groups such as Italon and Laminam Russia), but also thanks to the national pavilions organized by Ceramics of Italy and Tiles of Spain.
The Italian ceramic technology industry will also exhibit at Mosbuild. Pavilion 1 Hall 3, the section devoted to ceramic machinery and glazes, will host a large group of Italian companies under the banner of Acimac. In a 580 sq.m stand, the association will bring together 22 well-established companies in the sector: Air Power, BMR, Cami, CMF, Colorobbia, Esmalglass, Gape Due, ICF & Welko, LB, Lema, Martinelli, Mectiles, Officine Smac, Refrattari Speciali, Ricoth, Rieter Morando, Sacmi, Smaltochimica, Surfaces Technological Abrasives, System Ceramics, Tecnodiamant and Tecnoferrari.
Visitors to the Acimac stand will be able to pick up a free copy of the Russian edition of the magazine Ceramic World Review, which focuses on the latest technologies for the ceramic industry.
The importance of the Russian market for Italian exports is demonstrated by the rapid growth of local ceramic production, which according to initial estimates marked up double-digit growth in 2018 to reach around 187 million sq.m (+14.3%). The biggest increase was in the floor tile segment (now estimated at around 109 million sq.m), while wall tile production is valued at around 77 million sq.m. The growth in Russian tile production has been accompanied by an uptick in domestic tile demand, estimated last year at just under 200 million sq.m, not far short of the all-time record of 230 million sq.m of 2013.
Eastern Europe accounted for 8.1% of Italian ceramic machinery exports in 2017 with sales of 134.7 million euros, most of which were in the Russian market.
