Durst to unveil digital glazing prototype at Tecnargilla

Durst has chosen Tecnargilla 2016 as the platform to premiere the world’s first printer prototype for digital glazing.

After working on this latest generation of technology for some time, the Brixen-based company’s R&D department has now developed the innovative Full Digital Glaze Line concept.

The new technology, which was already much discussed at Tecnargilla 2014, will revolutionise ceramic production as it combines printing with finishing and synchronises digital decoration with glazing.

This new technology from Durst has been eagerly awaited by the ceramic tile market for years and offers previously-unseen levels of efficiency and creativity, allowing end products to be created on demand from a computer without the need for additional production stoppages.

At the stand set up at Tecnargilla, the new printer will be combined with the latest version of Gamma XD to simulate a real full digital glazing line. Equipped with DM technology, Gamma XD is the only system capable of fully exploiting the opportunities offered by digital decoration when using special effect inks.

A large number of examples of the application of this technology will be on display, giving industry professionals a first-hand view of the unlimited potential of the Full Digital Glaze line.

The Durst stand will also showcase Rho Vetrocer, the innovative digital printer for glass decoration which will be presented to the ceramic market for the first time. Thanks to the use of inorganic ceramic inks, the printer is capable of printing directly onto fired tiles. This system is ideal for performing customised small and medium-sized print runs.
