Gape Due celebrates its 50th anniversary by expanding its operations
Founded in 1967 by Michele Gatti, who now owns the company together with his son Stefano, Gape Due is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the opening of a new industrial building in response to the sharp growth in orders, which have returned to above pre-crisis levels. A major player in the sector of moulds for the ceramic tile industry, Gape Due began operations as a contractor but rapidly acquired the expertise needed to establish itself as a recognised and reliable partner for tile producer companies.
In 1981 it opened its current facility in Via Regina Pacis in Sassuolo, followed by a second plant in Formigine. “During the years of crisis we too were forced to downsize and return to operating solely at the Sassuolo facility, but without having to lay off a single person,” said Michele Gatti. “The difficulties are now behind us, as demonstrated by the opening of the new facility this year.”
The company’s growth testifies to its ability to keep pace with the times and to innovate constantly so as to offer the market the very best in mould technology. The growth in size and complexity of the components used to produce ever larger ceramic surfaces makes a high level of knowledge and expertise essential.
The 50th anniversary celebrations will be held in September. “It will be an opportunity to thank all the customers who have followed us for so many years, our trusted suppliers and all the employees and associates who have worked hard to ensure the success of the company,” said Gatti. “This is a splendid achievement that we want to share with all our friends and partners.”
