LB commissions Impack Italia to provide logistics management services
Marking yet another major success for Impack Italia, the Fiorano Modenese-based company has been commissioned by LB Officine Meccaniche to provide logistics services for its export operations.
Through this new partnership, which further strengthens Impack Italia’s presence in the Italian ceramic industry, LB aims to increase the speed, cost effectiveness and flexibility of all its logistics operations, from the end of the plant manufacturing process through to loading and delivery to the end customer.
Impack Italia has provided logistic outsourcing services since 1994, covering everything from plant storage to the supply of packaging and container and truck loading. The company has a more than 4,000 sq.m warehouse used for storing materials ready for shipment as well as a yard area set aside for vehicle loading operations.
Following recent investments in technology, it is now possible to draw up photographic packing lists combined with labels with barcodes for products and QR codes on every package, allowing for rapid control of the contents. This is useful for customs purposes (outgoing/incoming) and enables the end recipient to check the goods in every package without having to open them.
