Leier acquires Siceram

Austrian group Leier expands in Romania with the acquisition of another brick manufacturer

Following the acquisition of Romanian brick manufacturer Brikston Construction Solutions (formerly Ceramica Iasi) in December 2018, the Austrian group Leier has expanded further in Romania with the purchase of Siceram (Sighișoara), another company that operates in the heavy clay sector (bricks, roof tiles and other building materials).

Thanks to an agreement signed in October 2019 with the CEECAT Capital investment fund, Leier has acquired a historic company that was privatised in 1995 and posted a turnover of 18.3 million euros in 2018. Present in Romania since 2004, the Austrian group has consolidated revenues of over 200 million euros and operates 40 manufacturing units across seven countries: Austria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia and Ukraine.
