New investments at Durst
Durst, a leading manufacturer of digital printing systems for the decoration of ceramic surfaces, is accelerating with significant investments in R&D, expansion of its production department, reinforcement of its staff and introduction of leading-edge technical innovations.
Its strategic decisions include the opening of Sales&Support offices in South Africa, India and Asia Pacific Area and entering the Chinese market with the establishment of a new commercial company in partnership with C. Illies Trading Co. Ltd. This is part of its expansion process that also includes expanding its Bressanone plant with an additional 6,000 m2 area dedicated to the assembly of digital printers.
In addition, by spring 2014, a new building will be inaugurated at the Durst site in Lienz which will be used for the manufacturing of printing systems targeted towards the graphical arts market. Another new aspect concerns the reinforcement of its staff: since January 2013, the staff in Bressanone includes 25 new hires, 15 of which are fully dedicated to the ceramic sector.
With regard to innovation, the R&D department of this company from Alto Adige is currently committed to an important development phase for new technologies for the world of ceramics. These systems will be soon patented and are equipped with avant-garde components anticipating revolutionary changes to the ceramic production process thanks to new "synchronised digital glazing".
