Officine SMAC sees good prospects for 2024

The ceramic glazing and decorating equipment manufacturer reported double-digit revenue growth in 2023.

Officine Smac, a Fiorano Modenese-based manufacturer of glazing and decoration systems for ceramic tiles and bricks, continued its growth trend in 2023.

Last year the company posted 12-13% revenue growth, mainly due to a number of major orders concluded in the United States and a generally positive sales trend in both the brick and roof tile and the ceramic tile segments. The company’s activities focused on the circular economy, including waste recovery and aggregate grinding technologies, also contributed to this success.

Following these positive results, Officine Smac is completing the renovation of its Fiorano headquarters with the aim of improving energy efficiency. In addition to the photovoltaic panels already in place, it is now planning to install heat pumps to cut gas consumption to zero.

2024 is set to be another busy year for the company led by CEO Fulvio Masini. While the technical team continues to focus on developing increasingly automated solutions, the sales staff will be busy at no fewer than eight trade fairs. After participating in Indian Ceramics and Revestir (Brazil) in March, the company will be present at Ceramitec in Munich, Coverings in Atlanta, and Keramika in Indonesia between April and May. After the appointment with Tecna, the highlight of the year’s exhibition calendar to be held in Rimini in September, the company will conclude the year’s trade fair activities by participating in Ceramic Expo Bangladesh and ASEAN Ceramics in Vietnam.

“In the last two years, our growth strategy has been heavily focused on the opportunities offered by the Southeast Asian markets, but we are also ready to make a strong commitment towards revitalizing the South American market,” says Masini.

The outlook for 2024 is also positive.

“The orders we’ve already received make us confident about the rest of the year, with promising results in the brick market too,” adds Masini.
