Polis Ceramiche receives an Ecohitech Award
Polis Ceramiche has received an Ecohitech Award for its outstanding results in the field of eco-compatibility. Now in its tenth edition, the Ecohitech Award is presented in Italy each year to the most ecologically virtuous hi-tech companies in the field of construction of technological equipment and is organised by Consorzio Ecoqual’IT (institute for the provision of hi-tech eco-quality services).
This major award was presented for the Tecnologia Relux project carried out in cooperation with the Materials Engineering and Environment Department of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Relight, an international group that operates in the field of renewable energies.
The innovative production project, which obtained Ecolabel certification, enables ceramic frit to be largely replaced in glaze preparation with glass originating from decommissioned fluorescent lamps, leading to a reduction in raw materials usage, environmental impact of transport, energy consumption and production of waste.
