Poppi Clementino supplies plant to New Pearl in China
A new integrated heat recovery system has been supplied for the new large size tile production plant in Sanshui, Foshan.
Thanks to its extensive experience in the field of energy saving, Poppi Clementino of Reggio Emilia was chosen by the New Pearl group, China’s largest tile manufacturer, to design and build a fully automated heat recovery system to reduce the consumption of thermal machines in the new factory in Sanshui (Foshan) devoted to the production of large size ceramic tiles and slabs.
Sized according to the specific needs of the customer, the system is extremely flexible and uses heat recovered from the flue gases from a double-channel kiln. The presence of two innovative, self-cleaning, high-efficiency plate heat exchangers (an evolution of the previous models) allows a significant quantity of clean hot air to be supplied to the dryers and pre-dryers, resulting in significant savings in methane gas consumption and reduction in CO2 emissions.
Using state-of-the-art numerical modelling software, Poppi has studied the flow patterns and currents inside the machine to improve its internal design and achieve unprecedented levels of thermal efficiency for the ceramic industry.
A further advantage of the system supplied to New Pearl is the remote supervision system, which is able to control performance levels in real time and remotely manage all the controls of the integrated devices (valves, pressure switches, thermocouples, etc.) and their set-points, and to recalibrate certain parameters where necessary to maximise efficiency.
Despite the pandemic, the New Pearl Sanshui plant was successfully installed and started up last November with the invaluable help of local technicians. The installation marks an important milestone in the development of Poppi’s technology, which has already been adopted by numerous large ceramic groups worldwide.
