System Lamina technology to the Thai giant SCG
The Thai SCG Group, among the world top manufacturers of ceramic tiles, has recently signed an important agreement with System for the supply of a totally customized production line which will be dedicated to the production of large slabs with variable thickness. This special supply consists of the GEA 32000 press without a mould that will enable the Siam Cement Group to produce innovative covering materials with thicknesses varying from 3 to 20 millimetres.
The maximum dimensions of the pressing area will be 1.4 by 3.6 metres.
System has also designed and built the entire automated system with Nuova Era technology for the storage and kiln loading/unloading, the handling of units and planks with dedicated laser guided vehicles, and the packaging line with the Multigecko and 4Phases systems.
SCG is one of the 9 ceramic tile manufacturers worldwide which have chosen the System Lamina technology up to now, a technology which celebrates this year its 10th anniversary (Mr. Franco Stefani presented the first 1x3 m slab in 2004): Kale Group, Laminam, Levantina, Panariagroup and The Size were the first ones to introduce the new system, followed by Kutahya last year. The latest orders were signed in the first months of 2014 with Granitifiandre-Iris, SCG Group and Platinum (Indonesia).
