Tecnografica invests in technology and design
The reorganisation of production activities at Tecnografica Spa, a leading ceramic tile design firm based in Castellarano (Reggio Emilia), was concluded in January this year with an investment of around a million euros in innovative technologies for the development of master moulds and the acquisition of special 3D files for large format tiles.
An important part of the investment was focused on completing the very large format image scanning process using SD (Super Definition) technology. This innovative process results in a much wider colour range compared to conventional scans or photographs and makes it possible to obtain images for digital tile printing of unprecedented quality.
SD technology has been fully integrated with the new version of Tecnografica's colour profiling program Crono 3.0. This major innovation aims to improve colour management and digital printing production processes while reducing production costs.
At the facility in Castellarano, the new showroom devoted to natural and ceramic materials has been completed and the ceramic laboratory refurbished. It is now equipped with the latest digital printing technologies and has a pressing service available to client companies.
"The continuous innovations that are taking place in the field of digital decoration are driving us to seek increasingly advanced graphic and design solutions, which can be achieved only through new process technologies, research into materials and innovative ideas," said company owner Paolo Lamberti. "We see innovation as the only way of setting ourselves apart in an increasingly uniform market."
To support its development programmes, Tecnografica took on six new members of staff in 2014 and plans to hire a further six this year.
