Tecnografica opens branches in India and Brazil
India and Brazil are two large and fast-growing markets receptive to digital technology in ceramic tile printing. With this in mind, Tecnografica has decided to open a new branch in Ahmedabad and another in Rio Claro. With Tecnografica India and Tecnografica Brasil, the Castellarano-based company is expanding its international presence, penetrating two emerging areas that are on course for major growth in the future.
Speaking at a conference organised by the Brazilian ceramic tile manufacturers' association Anfacer shortly before the opening of the South American branch, Tecnografica's chairman Paolo Lamberti commented: "The ceramic sector is undergoing a technological change at a very rapid pace that will transform both the production process and companies' human resource requirements. Digital tile decoration not only makes it possible to create products of extremely high aesthetic quality, it also ushers in a new manufacturing concept that will ultimately lead to digital management of the entire production line. Manufacturing methods will also have to be rethought in anticipation of the production of Italian products in local markets under licence from the companies that designed them. For this reason, clear rules must be drawn up to protect intellectual property and safeguard the value of companies' design and research."
